Contact Us

Wellsville Fire Department was established in 1911 with only 19 volunteers.  Now in 2011 we have a 30 member department, including a Junior Firefighter Program.  Our Fire Chief is Robert Thomas, a 30 year member of our department.  The Wellsville Fire Department provides fire protection, emergency medical service, emergency rescue and hazardous materials response for residents of the City of Wellsville, Franklin Township in Franklin County, and Richland Township in Miami County, KS. The Department stands committed to deliver the very best with each opportunity to serve our community.

Our Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Wellsville Fire Department to preserve life and property, promote public safety and foster economic growth through leadership, management and actions, as an all risk life safety response provider.

Why Be A Volunteer Firefighter?

Being a Volunteer Firefighter offers rewards few other jobs can match.  Few jobs offer you the opportunity to save a life, but as a Volunteer Firefighter, you could be called upon to it in a moments notice.  The men and women who volunteer at Wellsville Fire Department share a common interest and the desire to help others in need.  If you are interested in becoming a member of our department please fill out an application at Wellsville City Hall.
